Born and raised in Virginia, she found her way to the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia to study art and photography at The Savannah College of Art and Design. During her time at college, Rebecca spent a week photographing the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Her work from this tragic event was featured in a solo gallery show, made publicized by an on air interview on NBC News about her work and experience, and also graced the pages of Style Weekly Magazine about the exhibit. After attending SCAD for four years, Rebecca moved to New York City to continue her education with an internship in the photography department at Cosmopolitan Magazine. While freelancing at night in the city, her work of musicians were published in The Washington Post newspaper. Following working at the magazine, she took a job as a photojournalist for the Progress-Index newspaper, photographing top political figures such as President Barack Obama or Gov. Tim Kaine. During this time, Rebecca was honored with two third place awards at the 2008 Virginia Press Association Awards for her photographs. Rebecca has since gone completely solo, freelancing and traveling all over the country photographing interesting people, musicians, and big scale events. With a serious documentary project in the works, Rebecca stays busy and focused, while working towards the next big thing.
